Good to know
Does it replace the BPR40d?
Yes. The BPR50dx is the successor to the Mag One BPR40d, with USB-C charging, longer battery life, louder audio, an emergency button and IP55 protection.
Will it work with our BPR40 or BPR40d radios?
Yes, in analog mode. The BPR50dx talks with existing BPR40 and BPR40d radios on analog channels, so you can add new radios to your current fleet.
Can I use my old BPR40d batteries and accessories?
Mag One audio accessories (earpieces, surveillance kits and speaker mics) made for the BPR40 and BPR40d work with the BPR50dx. Batteries do not; the BPR50dx uses a new, longer-lasting battery.
Will it work with MOTOTRBO radios?
Yes. The BPR50dx uses the DMR digital standard and, programmed correctly, can talk with MOTOTRBO radios such as the CP100d.
How do I charge it?
Use the desktop charger, or plug a USB-C cable into the radio with a standard USB charger. Charging through the radio’s USB-C port is about 30% slower than the desktop charger. It will not overcharge if left on the charger.
Do I need a license?
Business radios like the BPR50dx use FCC-licensed frequencies. We can program the radios for the license you already have, or talk you through getting one.
