Overview
The KENWOOD Viking® VM7000 is an all-band, multi-deck P25 mobile that lets one vehicle receive and display up to four bands at the same time, so command staff, fire officers and interoperability units never miss a call. Mix low band, VHF, UHF and 700/800 MHz decks under one control head, with “select” and “unselect” speakers that work much like a dispatch console. High-power 100 W and 110 W decks are available, and it runs P25 Phase 1 and 2 trunking and conventional, Viking16 and analog on ATLAS, Motorola ASTRO 25, L3Harris VIDA, Airbus VESTA and other standards-based P25 systems.

Good to know
VM7000 or VM8000: which do I need?
The VM8000 is multi-band from a single deck and has the newest features, like Bluetooth, Viking Connect, DMR and NXDN. The VM7000 is built around multiple decks that receive several bands at the same time, plus low-band and 100–110 W high-power options, which is ideal for command posts, fire officers and interoperability vehicles.
What does “multi-deck” mean in practice?
Each band has its own RF deck, and all of them run at once under one control head. A battalion chief could monitor the county P25 system, a VHF fireground channel and a neighboring agency on 800 MHz at the same time, choosing which one to talk on.
Does it support low band?
Yes, with the VM7630H 110 W low-band deck (39–50 MHz). Low band is analog only and is available in multi-deck configurations.
Will it work on our county or state P25 system?
Yes. Kenwood lists the VM7000 as compatible with KENWOOD ATLAS, Motorola ASTRO 25, L3Harris VIDA, Airbus VESTA and other standards-based P25 Phase 1 and 2 systems. We will confirm compatibility and program it for your system.
Can you install it?
Yes. Our upfitting shop plans and installs multi-deck systems: RF decks, control heads, antennas for each band, speakers and power wiring.
