Overview
The MOTOTRBO™ R2 is Motorola Solutions’ straightforward, tough business radio: no screen, no menus, just a channel knob, a volume knob and a big push-to-talk button. It’s light (under 11 ounces with the high-capacity battery), rated IP55 against dust and rain, and built to MIL-STD-810 standards. It runs a full shift and then some. Choose analog, or digital (which also talks to analog radios), in VHF or UHF.

Good to know
Does the R2 have a display or Bluetooth?
No. The R2 is intentionally simple, with knobs and buttons only, no display and no Bluetooth. A programmable voice announcement tells the user which channel or zone they are on.
Can I start with analog and go digital later?
Yes. The analog R2 can be upgraded to digital in the field with a license key, so you can buy analog now and switch when you are ready.
Will it work on a MOTOTRBO trunking system?
No. The R2 works radio-to-radio and on single-site conventional repeaters. It does not support IP Site Connect, Capacity Plus or Capacity Max. For system use, ask us about other MOTOTRBO models.
Does it work with my CP200d accessories?
Chargers and audio accessories (speaker mics, earpieces) are compatible with the CP200d. Batteries are not interchangeable between the two radios.
How do I get 64 channels from a 16-position knob?
A programmable side button switches between 4 zones of 16 channels each, with voice announcement so users always know where they are.
